A power of attorney is useful when you cannot be physically present to sign your rental contract:

  • Expatriation or travel: you are abroad at the time of signing
  • Health issues: temporary inability to travel
  • Co-ownership: one co-owner signs on behalf of the others
  • Company: a director delegates signing to a colleague

The agent acts in your name and on your behalf. You remain legally bound by the signed lease.

Our generator produces a complete document including:

  • Identification of the principal (landlord or tenant)
  • Identification of the agent (the person who will sign)
  • Precise description of the property concerned
  • Scope of the mandate (signature only or negotiation + signature)
  • Validity period of the power of attorney
  • Revocation clauses

The document complies with Belgian civil law and is accepted by the registration offices of all 3 regions.

To be valid, your power of attorney must contain:

For electronic signatures (via itsme or eID), the power of attorney must be transmitted digitally before the signing session.
