Role of the PCSW in housing aid

The PCSW can supplement the applicant’s income to enable them to pay their rent. The amount depends on the difference between the household’s resources and the cost of housing.

Rental deposit

The PCSW can set up the rental deposit for people who cannot fund it themselves. It can also act as guarantor to the landlord.

Moving assistance

Partial or full coverage of moving costs for people in difficulty.

Mediation

The PCSW can intervene as a mediator between the tenant and the landlord in case of conflict or risk of eviction.

The PCSW can sign a transitional lease on behalf of a beneficiary in difficulty.
